Morning | Hotel Pickup & Dujiangyan Panda Valley
Your private driver and English-speaking guide will meet you in your Chengdu hotel lobby (within the 3rd Ring Road) at the confirmed time. After a scenic 1.5-hour drive, you will arrive at Dujiangyan Panda Valley.
Also known as the Dujiangyan Wild Release and Breeding Research Center, this valley is a working rewilding facility where captive-born pandas train for eventual release into the wild. It is home to around 25 giant pandas living in spacious, semi-wild habitats surrounded by bamboo forests and rolling hills.
Your guide will lead you along the trail to see the giant pandas in their forest enclosures. Because the valley is far less crowded than the Chengdu city panda base, you can observe the pandas from just a few meters away—watching them eat bamboo, climb trees, and play.
The highlight for many visitors is the red panda free-roaming area. Follow the elevated forest boardwalk through the red panda habitat, where these russet-furred acrobats roam freely among the trees.
