Overview
Go behind the scenes at one of the world’s most important giant panda conservation centers. This is not a standard zoo visit—it is a hands-on volunteer experience at the Wolong China Giant Panda Garden, Shenshuping Base, the world’s largest captive-bred giant panda population base, home to around 74 giant pandas—approximately 50% of all captive giant pandas worldwide.
Under the guidance of professional keepers and science educators, you will clean enclosures, prepare fresh bamboo, make panda cakes (wowotou), observe behavioral training, and watch a conservation documentary. At the end of the day, you will receive an official volunteer certificate from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
This is a private experience with hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, lunch at the keeper cafeteria, and all volunteer program fees included.
